Recognition of the band called Queen...

Over the time I've speant in Queen forums, bar the Aussie Queens forum and a few small forums, I've noticed something about some Queen fans in particular support a certain view I don't feel is incredibly accurate. There are people out there who say that Freddie Mercury was what made Queen all they were: the others had nothing to do with the band and they simply played the music in the background and Freddie did all the work.

Now, only a fool would deny that Freddie Mercury was one of, if not THE, greatest performer of the past century, and contributed greatly to Queen's success. However, to say that he was the only one who contributed to this, and the other three had no part to play is just as foolish. These people call themselves Queen fans yet fail to reocgnise it was Brian May who wrote We Will Rock You (still universally recognised for it's beat and lyrics), John Deacon who wrote Another One Bites The Dust and Roger Taylor who wrote Radio GaGa. These songs helped Queen to become one of the greatest rock bands in history.

Yes, Freddie Mercury was amazing; he was more than that, actually, he was breath-taking. But he wasn't the only one who contributed to their success. To have one change in the line up of the band, even one, it could've made a huge change. In the "live at the Bowl" dvd, in the "musical prostitue" interview, Freddie himself mentioned something about the line up of the band making them special; he said that the four personalities in the band is what made Queen, well, Queen.

To call yourself a fan of Queen but only have respect for Freddie Mercury isn't calling yourself a Queen Fan at all; it's calling you a Freddie Mercury fan and that is all.

First Blog in Ages

Hey everyone, I haven't bloged here in ages!

Well, what has been going on in the world of Pie, you ask?

I've gotten into University (yay!) and I'm studying arts...My course starts at the end of Feb, so I'm quite excited.

I'm really happy to have finished school, I was really getting sick of that place!

Today I had a party for my one year old second cousin (that is, my cousin's little girl). She's a gorgeous little thing, but our family is a bit big and she was a bit overwhelmed by all the people at first, but then she got used to it. There were so many presents for her, she's spoilt!
I was holding her at one stage and was walking with her around outside and all of a sudden she grinned and brought her nose up to mine and scrunched her face up... it looked very cute, I think she was immitating what people do to her when they rub noses with her...
Then the cake came and all the cameras came out... she was tired and didn't know where to look.
It was a great day, our family parties are always really fun.

Anyway, I've been gonig on a bit too long now, I'll blog again soon!

I Think I Better do a Proper Entry

Hey everyone;

Sorry my last entry was short, it was just a test to make sure that this thing actually works!

So anyway, I've been relaxing over the past few days, trying to get as much in as possible, as being in year 12 doesn't really allow you to do that. Luckily, we've only had one week of unit 4 so there isn't as much homework as there were last holidays. Those holidays seem like a lifetime ago, this term was a long one, yet it doesn't seem to have gone as long as I thought it would.

I've got the Return of the Champions dvd, and this makes me want to see these guys heaps!

Anyway, I better head off, I've got a dvd to watch!

Finally Holidays

Well, holidays are here again, it's good to have a break, even though I'll be studying most of the time. It'll be good though, to be able to study whenever I want, not as many deadlines in holidays.
